Jack was employed into service for the East India Trading Company and was given command of the Wicked Wench. However, after he set free a cargo of slaves, his employer, Cutler Beckett, had Jack branded as a pirate and the Wench set aflame and sunk. After failing to rescue the Wench, Sparrow struck a bargain with the ghostly captain of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones, to resurrect his beloved vessel. Jones returned the ship to Jack in near perfect condition except for the permanently charred hull. This prompted Jack to rename her the Black Pearl.

Wow. When people call bluegrass “country” I want to sock them in the face. You obviously have a VERY limited music taste. American Idol may have given Phillip the unfair advantage of all the tweens of America (a force to reckon with), but just being the top FIVE of the show is an honor enough. All these Filipinos getting sore over the fact that Jessica didn’t win. Whether or not you win wouldn’t change anything. More often than not those contestants don’t pursue chart topping careers. They claim that the show is racist when they probably wouldn’t even be watching if there wasn’t a Filipino contestant. Phillip is good in his own way. Jessica is good in her own way. Personally, I enjoy Phillip more because he’s just up my genre alley, but I am in no way saying Jessica has no talent. She has a voice TO DIE FOR and I would give ANYTHING to be able to sing like her, but she just doesn’t appeal to me. There are too many Filipinos like her. We all sound the same which is why very few of us make it in the industry. There’s very little to differentiate us from each other and the other artists out there. In this era, it’s necessary to make a distinct mark that is uniquely your own and Phillip Phillips was able to blend a plethora of different styles (I caught the Bon Iver and Mumford and Sons in there Phillips!) to create a one of a kind, grand daddy of all bluegrass indie rock folk music style. I don’t even know anymore guys. I just had so many feels. I’m going to complete my Gatsby assignment. Haven’t even finished reading that. Whatever. Bye.
